Douglas brings over 17 years of diversified public accounting experience and 31 years to the marketplace in the area of multistate tax consulting. Prior to joining Horizons Consulting, Douglas was a partner at Arthur Andersen and Deloitte. As a tax partner he was responsible for providing multi-state sales and use tax to national and local clients.
Douglas assists clients in the areas of sales and use tax. Douglas’s professional experience includes state and local tax refund analysis and audit reviews, tax controversy, state credits and incentives, nexus studies, sales tax training, tax planning, voluntary disclosure, and general sales tax consulting.
Douglas specializes in oil and gas, energy manufacturing, retail, service industries, software development companies and construction industry.

Daryl has worked in state and local tax since 1993. Before joining Horizons Consulting, Daryl provided consulting services at national state and local tax firms. Prior to becoming a consultant, Daryl was a sales and use tax accountant for a global manufacturing and construction contracting company.
Daryl performs multistate tax research and planning to minimize clients’ state and local taxes. He has represented manufacturing clients in the automotive, chemical, food, metal, oil and gas, petroleum, pharmaceuti-cal, and printing industries. In addition, Daryl has served clients in the following industries: software, web design, digital/cloud services, construction, distribution, leasing, retailing, and other service industries.
He has extensive experience assisting national and mid market clients with Nexus reviews, voluntary disclosure agreements, credit and incentive programs, managing state audits, audit litigation and providing day to day multistate tax advice to clients
Daryl graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Daryl is a Certified Public Accountant, Licensed in Illinois.
Daryl is a Vertex Tax Decision Specialist. Daryl is a Member of the Iowa Industrial Processing Study Committee (2004-current), and was a mem-ber of the Illinois CPA Society – Taxation, State and Local Tax Committee (2006-2007).
